Congratulations Marc Delaney!!

Marc is the North Country’s first student to receive joint admission to St. Lawrence University and SUNY Upstate College of Medicine, under a new articulation agreement between the schools.   Marc first learned about opportunities in healthcare by attending a classroom presentation given by NAHEC staff and utilizing the My Health Career® website to explore potential careers.

About Us

Area Health Education Centers (AHEC's) are non-profit agencies dedicated to healthcare workforce development. AHEC strategies include: Outreach to youth to promote an interest in healthcare careers; Support of training programs to ensure access for interested participants; and Promotion of continuing education and professional development opportunities for healthcare professionals. This Pipeline-to-Practice approach connects students to careers, professionals to communities, and communities to better health.

AHEC's are regionally based to ensure solutions to the healthcare workforce shortage meet the needs of the communities they serve. There are nine Centers throughout New York State supported by three regional and one statewide office. The Northern Area Health Education Center, Inc. (NAHEC) is located in Canton, New York, and serves the following counties: Jefferson, Lewis, St. Lawrence, Franklin, and Clinton.
